how to spend a day in dublin, ireland
When I visited Dublin in October, we spent 2.5 days in the capital city. One of those days happened to be my 35th birthday. And what a glorious day it turned out to be, with lots of sunshine and blue skies, mild temps and the thrill of wandering around a new city with my best friend. That’s how I want to spend every birthday for the rest of my life! I found myself impressed with Dublin for its walkability, its friendliness and a sense of familiarity. There are plenty of things that can be done and seen and experienced in the city, but here’s how we chose to spend one day in Dublin.
Walk out the door and choose a direction - left or right. You won’t be wrong.
Take some time to wander the neighborhood, popping in to cafes for coffee and shops to browse and taking in the hustle and bustle of the locals.
Grab a sandwich from the green bench cafe, then head over to the canal in the neighborhood of Portobello. If the sun is high in the sky, perch yourself along the canal’s banks and enjoy the company of the swans moving about.
